Overcoming Launch Burnout: Self-Care Tips for Entrepreneurs

Live launching can be exhausting especially if it’s your first time putting an offer out there or building your business without a team.

There are so many moving pieces to organise and it takes a lot of energy and focus to not only execute it all but also show up with energy and enthusiasm to your audience (especially once open cart hits and you’ve been leading up to this point for the last couple of months!)

Launching should be exciting - not tipping you over the edge to burnout. Having been part of 100’s of launches here are my top self-care tips for avoiding and overcoming launch burnout

1/Give yourself plenty of time to plan and implement

Planning is self-care! Got a new offer in mind and want to get it out there tomorrow? That is a sure fire way to create stress and burnout! You can of course put some offers out there quickly but if you’re thinking of launching a big group program or course then giving yourself plenty of time is really the key to a less frantic launch.

6-12 weeks is a good runway to plan, strategise, and execute all the pieces that you need to and that can even include creating your course!

2/ Consider what is going on in your personal life at the time

When helping out my clients plan out their quarter or year for launches I always start off with the question, do you have anything big coming up personally, e.g. a house move, big birthday, kids exams etc.

This is because it’s all well and good saying that you want to launch every quarter but when you look ahead at your year visually on a calendar and realise actually I need to make space for this big house move and that’s going to take a lot of my energy and time then you start to see how things will really play out and when you do have the energy to put into a big launch.

There is nothing worse than trying to juggle a massive personal issue with live launching (it happens but if we can avoid it it’s much much better). Of course we are all superwomen but we don’t need to be 24/7 piling more stuff on to our plates when it’s just not sensible to.

3/ Plan in breaks or days off during your launch plan

As part of your plan make sure to plan in regular breaks or days off. This will be key to keeping your energy levels up throughout the launch period. Whether it’s taking the day before your launch event to go pamper yourself so you show up in the best energy possible or when the dreaded deadzone of open cart hits, taking half a day out with a friend to keep your mind off of things, make sure that you’re not constantly on all the time.

Also don’t just go straight from close cart to delivering your course, allow yourself a day or two to decompress from the launch and then go into your course. People will not mind waiting a day or three to start your offer!

4/ Prioritise your health

I really truly believe that no matter how stressful and busy life gets, if we can keep health as our priority we will be much better equipped to deal with everything coming our way. No matter how much is on your plate, make time to move your body, eat for health and energy and sleep. It’s easier said than done but this really is a foundational pillar that cannot be missed because if it is you will quickly feel like shit and then that energy will seep into your launch and you will find yourself not attracting the results and people that you want.

5/ Work on your mindset

As much as we need to work on our physical health, our mindset and mental health is just as important. No matter if you have launched before, launches will always have you at one moment or another questioning yourself, your business and if you can do this. DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT VOICE - YOU HAVE GOT THIS!

Have a routine or toolkit in place that you can dip into to support you - guided meditations, affirmations, EFT, having someone you love and trust to cheerlead you on through the tougher moments are great things to implement (if you’re not already) during a launch period.

Remember all the money and growth isn’t worth the stress if your launches drain the life out of you and feeling this way will also cause you to give up on your business sooner than you should.

You don’t need to live launch all the time and there are other ways to grow your business and audience but live launching can be incredible effective and I would always recommend doing it a couple of times for each offer to really test the market and see what people want and how they react.

We often forgot the power we have within our own lives to create the experiences that we want to have and that includes launching. So just make sure that you take the time and have those nourishing moments throughout so that you can sustain the energy you need!
